I am your carpenter I am the builder. I put together the beams and the doors. Do you feel safe in your home? I put together the framework. Windows need my care and without me there are no staircases or molding. No crowns or steps. I create furniture and put in the beams in the roof. I am the carpenter; do you see me? I use the saw to bring out the shape that is in my mind and on paper. Sometimes I follow orders and sometimes I create from my world. Often I am in the zone, at one with my hands, my tool and the wood and my vision of what is being created. I breathe in the fumes of varnish and glue. My brain grows toxic. And still I continue, for I love the living wood with which I work. The material with which I work has so many different qualities and textures.
