Hardscape is the perfect complement to any landscape by transforming the surface to a more useable area. With so many options in color, shape and stone type (flagstone, brick, paver or concrete, stone walls, etc.) any look can be created in your garden. Are you seeking a rustic feel for your patio that neither brick nor concrete can offer? Try a stone patio. Using concrete as a surface for patios and landings is practical -- too practical, for some. To spice up bare concrete, designs could be incorporated. Paving stones are an excellent alternative to concrete not only is it a durable surface that can easily be repaired, but it is available in a wide variety of colors and shapes and designs can easily be incorporated. Almost every landscape has a problem area, be it a rocky area, a slope, drainage issues or an area so heavily shaded that design options with plants are limited. Fortunately, our skilled designers and installation crews are expert at dealing with problem areas and will come up with the best solution for your landscape needs.
The artful application of landscaping stone can enhance the natural elements that you already have in your garden. The aesthetic and functional use of stone such as adding a garden wall, steps or a patio can even raise the value of your property. The skillful arrangement of stone and other hardscape components creates the frame for your garden. Whether composed of concrete, stone, or some other hardscape material, patios are a wonderful way to tie the indoors to the outdoors, thereby bringing together house and landscape effectively and creating outdoor living spaces. In regions like ours which are plagued by drought and for homeowners who want a low-maintenance landscape, an alternative to water thirsty lawns is an extended patio, which takes up space where grass would otherwise be planted. One can utilize an extended patio to incorporate elements like an outdoor fireplace or kitchen which creates a whole new space to enjoy.
The use of stone includes, but is not limited to:
• Patio floors/walls
• Driveways
• Seat walls
• Paths, including walkways
• Accent pieces for water gardens and, rock gardens
• Stone walls and steps
