I am your stone mason Mine is one of the oldest professions and the most powerful. I created pyramids and towns, cathedrals and aqueducts. Without us, there was nothing truly durable. I am part of the earth. I am your stone mason. I am the strongest of the tradesmen. Quarrying stone is backbreaking work. Many of us died creating the monuments that last forever. Those of us who survived, acquired the strengths of stone in our dna. Many perils. A mistake means crushed limbs, broken bones. Inhaling rock dust contaminates our lungs. But our pride knows no bounds. I am your stone mason. The earth gives us our building materials, created through intense pressure, heat, and eons of time. I build for eternity. The pyramids I and my fellow masons created last to this day. Sometimes I polish stone and you get a wonder like the TajMahal. other times, I leave the stones as they are. I look from the heavens and point to our accomplishments. I and my fellow masons form societies and think our own thoughts. I know the secrets of engineering that no one else knows. I long to know other secrets. I have endured extreme weariness and come through with muscles of stone. I offer much to your home. I am your stone mason. Stone wall building

We know that stone wall building and stone repair work can involve some dust and noise. Be assured that everyone who works with Designer Properties respects your people, pets and property. They are honest, reliable, hard-working craftsman. We will take great care to minimize the dust that is involved in building your stone retaining wall and we will always leave a clean place after the completed work.

To hold large stones in place, stonemasons attach brackets to the stone and weld or bolt these brackets to anchors in the wall. Finally, masons wash the stone with a cleansing solution to remove stains and dry mortar. When setting stone floors, which often consist of large and heavy pieces of stone, masons first use a trowel to spread a layer of damp mortar over the surface to be covered. Using crowbars and hard rubber mallets for aligning and leveling, they then set the stone in the mortar bed. To finish, workers fill the joints and clean the stone slabs. Masons use a special hammer and chisel to cut stone. They cut stone along the grain to make various shapes and sizes, and valuable pieces often are cut with a saw that has a diamond blade. Some masons specialize in setting marble, which, in many respects, is similar to setting large pieces of stone. Brickmasons and stonemasons also repair imperfections and cracks, and replace broken or missing masonry units in walls and floors
